This device saved me time. One day I was looking for Lowe in the area and I couldn't find it. After taking a few minute to browse through this GPS system, getting to Lowe is easy. I like the wide screen for better viewing, but after getting used to it, you hardly look at the screen. Let the voice guide you. Oh, if you want it to speak the street name, make sure you select the language with "TTS" marked. It took me a while to figure this out online. No documentation in the box for this. I haven't gotten used to the Bluetooth feature yet. I have a bluetooth headset, but just in case, if I forget it, I can use this GPS while driving. The traffic navigation is very accurate. I'm satisfied. In the long run, it should pay for the convenience and fuel cost. If you drive to new places, this should be very useful.

Purchased this as a replacement for a Nuvi 600 series unit. I enjoy it's ease of use and find it to be very simple to learn and program. We use it extensively for travel and to support our GeoCaching hobby. It works extremely well with large group of custom POI's on the external data card, right now I have close to 3000 custom POI's on an external card and system works seamlessly with the data on the card. My wife has a GPS system in her vehicle and prefers the Nuvi over the built in system

I love it. It has BT that works with my phone and allows me Hands-Free calling while driving. It will play music and store pictures. If it had a camera, it would've been perfect, but I already have that on my phone. I would say that this is probably more of a geek's choice, it has many features and it took a little effort to upgrade the firmware and database but Garmin was very helpful on their web site. The best part is the price. I paid less than $200 On Amazon (Sep-09) and it used to be north of $600 just a few short months ago.

Love it, October 21, 2009
By Sean Solo (Lexington, KY USA) -
I wanted a Blu-ray player for two main reasons, 1) to watch Netflix on my TV, and 2) to watch Star Trek: The Original Series (Enhanced) on Blu-ray. I returned an LG BD 390 because a stupid icon kept popping up every time an "alternate angle"/enhanced scene appeared during an episode. This was many times during each episode. It's only on the screen for a few seconds, but you can't turn it off. Contacted LG and they said you can't turn it off and they weren't planning a firmware update to fix it - unacceptable. So now I have the Sony and I am thrilled. No more icon, and I like the option of turning off other icons like "play" and "pause". I think the load time is fine - fast enough for me. I'm anxious to get the Netflix firmware update to try that out. I don't need a wireless Blu-ray as I have wired my basement to get more reliable video streaming. I am very satisfied with this player.

works with nuvi 750/760/770 series too...however, October 29, 2007

Garmin nüvi 750 Auto Navigation System

i just picked up one of these for a nuvi 750 as the case is listed as compatible on the garmin site. stylish looking case however, the 700 series is thinner then 600 series. if you hold the case upside down, the nuvi will fall out. be careful.

great blu ray player for the money, September 6, 2009
By C. Zhou (Raleigh, NC) - I believe I am the first to review this product. At first, I was a little hesitant to buy, because I have not heard any comments from other buyers. Currently, I am a very satisfied customer. Blu-ray playback and regular DVD playback are excellent, fantastic picture quality and amazing sound. It has all of the Dolby TrueHD and DTS MA HD audio decoders. For those with older AV receivers like mine, it comes with a digital coaxial jack instead of the newer optical. The best feature of this player is that I have encountered zero skipping or other playback issues. I had originally bought a Samsung BDP1500, and it was absolute crap, could not play half of the blu ray discs and had multiple menu navigation issues and functionality issues. This LG has none, and I am quite suprised that this entry level model is EXcellent. I highly encourage others to buy. The only gripe I have is that the price is now $20 lower than when i had purchased.

you've got to be kidding me..., December 22, 2007
By Amy (Frisco, TX) -
Terrific toy! I purchased this EXACT item this week (last week before Christmas) for $5.00. At $25.00 (plus shipping, I'm sure) it is ridiculously inflated (pun) for this toy you can most likely find around the block in your nearest big box bigger headache store...it's worth the headache rather than paying that much more!!

Great Routing, Lousy Price, Limited Features, August 29, 2008
By D. Furlong "Dan" (Charleston, SC USA) - See all my reviews

I purchased a Sony NAVU-83T, a Garmin 680, and a Garmin 780 to compare their features and routing capability. I kept the 780 and returned the others, but it was a very difficult decision.

The Sony unit [...] at Costco, and has a 4.8" screen (1/2" larger!). It has one of the best user interfaces on the market, primarily due to a few things: 1) you can always get back to the map by pressing one button, regardless of where you are, 2) you can always get to the main menu by pressing one button, regardless of where you are in the menus, 3) it has a split screen function that gives you lane guidance visually so that you know which lane to get into, well before the turn, 4) it has shortcuts, for instance to GO HOME you make a V shape on the screen and it takes you home...no menu navigation required!

On the down side, the Sony took FOREVER to calculate or re-calculate routes, and in many cases I missed the newly recalculated turn because it took too long to figure it out. It also took longer routes than the Garmin, would avoid commonly used roads for no apparent reason, and would not take me down roads that were shown on the map and clearly the shortest route. Last of all, the Sony took forever to gain a satellite fix once turned on. And the Sony mount was soooo very cool and useful! For $249 you got the cool mount and a nice carrying case. I did not get a chance to use the TMC traffic service.

The Garmin 680 ($349 at Costco) was a fine device, with very fast and accurate routing. It found points of interest quickly and accurately (the Sony often could not find them). However, I really liked the thin size of the 780 and the fact that the antennae was built in, so I kept the 780 in spite of the extra cost.

Better than a Nuvi 760, February 3, 2009
By Youth Pastor "of Disaster" (Dallas, TX) - See all my reviews
Before I decided to buy this Nuvi 265wt model, I had bought the Nuvi 760 model on Black Friday. The 760 model was okay at best. I had it for about three weeks until I realized that the upper right hand corner would not respond until after pressing that corner at least five times. So I decided to return the Garmin and I was thinking about getting a tomtom or magellan. But then I saw the 265wt on sale for $200 and I decided, since I bought the 760 for $250, maybe I could save money and just give Garmin one last try...As soon as I opened the 265wt, I fell in love with it!

Great Product, August 1, 2009
By D. Caldwell "drcatty2" (Raleigh, NC) - See all my reviews

My wife just got me one of these for my birthday. From opening the box to having it fully set up (not just hooked up, but also set up) took maybe half an hour, probably less. Incredible picture quality. Incredible sound quality. Makes me understand why SACD was invented. I've had a Pioneer DVD/SACD/DVD-audio player for several years after SACD had been strongly recommended to my by someone at a local stereo store. While nice and a little better than standard CD, I never really understood why he'd been so positive about the format. Now I know. Extremely easy to hook up as it sends all audio through HDMI. The other BD/universal players on the market are between 7 and 10x more expensive. Yes its a little more expensive than many of the BD players on the market, but it is absolutely worth it. If I could give this unit more than 5 stars on a 5 star scale, I would.
